What are T8 lamps?
T8 lamps are round fluorescent tubes with a diameter of 26 mm and a G13 or 2G13 fitting. Ideal for workshops, garages, warehouses, kitchen, hobby rooms and public buildings. They provide lots of light, last a long time and use less energy than incandescent bulbs. So you get bright, functional light without worry.
T8 or T5 lamp?
Are you hesitating between T8 and T5? The difference is in thickness and efficiency. T5 tubes are thinner and usually more economical, but often don't fit in a standard fixture. T8 lamps are more robust, fit into most existing fixtures and deliver excellent light quality at a competitive price.
How to choose the right T8 lamp
T8 tubes come in different lengths - from 45 cm to 150 cm - and in wattages from 10W to 58W. The right choice depends on how much light you need and where you use the lamp. You have a choice of:
- Very warm white (827): atmospheric and soft
- Warm white (830): neutral and pleasant
- Cool white (840): bright and efficient
- Daylight (865): natural and powerful
LED T8: smart choice
Want to switch to LED, but keep your fixture? Then choose LED T8 tubes. They use less power, last longer and you often replace them one-to-one. Or go for a tube that works directly on mains voltage. LED T8 combines convenience with energy benefits.
