Which halogen spotlight do I need?
The halogen spotlight you need depends on its socket and diameter. First, you need to know which socket your spotlight should have. This is often written on the old bulb. The most common halogen spots are spots with GU10 fitting, recessed spots with GU4 or GU5.3 fitting or PAR spots with small or large fitting.
On this page you will find all our halogen spots with GU10 fitting. These plug and screw into the fixture and operate on 230 volts. Recessed spotlights have two thin pins and are inserted straight into the fixture. Recessed spots work on 12 volt fixtures. PAR spots have a large or small swivel fitting type E14 or E27 and can be used in many types of lamps.
For recessed spots, check out our 12-volt halogen spots. Looking for a spotlight with a small or large fitting? Then check out our PAR spots.
35mm, 50mm and 63mm Halogen Spotlights
If you are sure about the fitting of your lamp you still have to choose which diameter you need. This is often indicated on old lamps. Is this not indicated? Then take a tape measure or ruler and measure the diameter of the lamp. Then choose the lamp with the correct diameter. We even have special halogen spotlights with a diameter of 111mm. If you want a larger spotlight than your old one, no problem as long as it fits in the fixture.
