Looking for a halogen spotlight with an ordinary E14 or E27 fitting? We also call these spotlights PAR spots. We have PAR 16, PAR 20, PAR 30 and PAR 38 spots. The numbers are in relation to the size of the spot. For example, a PAR 16 spot has a diameter of 50mm and a PAR 38 spot has a diameter of 124mm.
What should you look for when buying a PAR lamp?
Pay attention to wattage, dimmability and beam angle before buying a PAR bulb.
Maximum wattage.
Check how many watts your fixture supports. Choose a lamp with a wattage within that range to avoid problems.
Dimmability
About half of our PAR lamps are dimmable. On our product pages you will find a filter option. If you click on "dimmable," all dimmable lamps will be displayed immediately.
Spot or flood
Our PAR halogen lamps are available with different beam angles. Most PAR halogen lamps are spot lamps and thus have a small beam angle. But some PAR lamps are flood lamps and have a wide beam angle. Also known as wide beam. So pay attention to whether you want a spotlight or a PAR lamp that emits light at a wide angle. You can find this in the lamp's title and/or properties.
What is a PAR lamp?
A PAR lamp is a special spotlight that focuses light on a specific spot. The "PAR" stands for "Parabolic Aluminized Reflector." The spot has a reflector made of shiny aluminum that, because of its shape, can direct the light in a special way and at a specific beam angle.
PAR spotlights are powerful and can create a small beam of light, making them ideal for illuminating certain objects and areas. Consider, for example, lighting art and accessories in the living room or highlighting products in stores. PAR spotlights come in different sizes and strengths, so you can tailor them to your specific lighting needs.
The difference between E14 and E27 fittings for spotlights
Choose the right fitting to match the specifications of your spotlight and lamp. The main difference between E14 and E27 fittings for spotlights is in the thread size.
E14 fitting: This is the smaller version, also known as the small screw fitting. With a screw thread of about 14 millimeters, it is perfect for smaller spotlights and lamps, such as those in ceiling lamps, table lamps.
E27 fitting: This is the larger version, or the large screw fitting. With a screw thread of about 27 millimeters, this fitting is the standard in most household lamps. Ideal for larger spotlights, pendant lights and floor lamps.
